INSPIRED MONDAY: Drama house
Folakemi turned to leave, there was no way that was right, she wouldn't do the drama with Clara, hasn't the Word said "Gather not my soul with sinners nor my life with bloody men?" So how dare these so called leaders choose Clara for one of the major roles in the school drama. Everyone knew how ungodly Clara was, wasn't that enough for them to turn a blind eye to her good acting skills? Good? Folakemi had made a mistake, there can't possibly be anything good about Clara since she had chosen not to be of God. Her acting too must be vain then, a gift from hell. Folakemi grew up to love God in her own way and be outspoken about it, afterall, Jesus wasn't ashamed to preach the Words of his father, then who was she - joint heir with Christ and Jesus' sister - to be afraid of preaching her father's Word. Didn't Jesus openly rebuke the Pharisees and Scribes whenever they did the wrong things, then why would she cover up the evil acts of sinners, she couldn't do it, she absolutely wouldn't, the thought of it choked her.
Lanre, the coordinator, sighed, "what is the matter Fola?" He asked, he knew very well that this was most likely going to happen and he had been praying for the strength to deal with it. Left to him, as soon as Folakemi protested, he'd have her removed from the play, but he wasn't the only one to decide, Folakemi's uncle was the head coordinator for their department, and Folakemi was a really good actress for Christ. Three things she was most popular for in school was being the niece of the department's head coordinator, being a very good actress, and for her "Godly" way of living. "Can we speak in private Lanre?" She asked, much to everyone's surprise.
Clara chuckled loudly and attention turned to her "Talk in private? Since when did you care who heard your rant?" Clara said.
Folakemi sighed "Wisdom is profitable to direct" she said.
"Then is this your first time being wise?" Clara asked.
"I don't have time to fight with you, my God made it clear that fighting is a sin" Folakemi said.
"Say, your God didn't tell you to love your neighbour as yourself?" Clara asked.
"My God told me to have nothing to do with sinners" Folakemi said.
"That didn't answer what I asked" Clara nodded.
Folakemi looked sternly at Clara "The fool says in his heart there is no God, and from the mouth of fools comes foolishness" She said. Clara stood from her seat angrily. "Clara" Lanre called quickly to caution her. Clara sighed angrily "I'm leaving" she said and turned to leave. "We haven't even started rehearsal Clara" Lanre called after her, she didn't mind, she couldn't stand a bunch of judgmental people, and Folakemi was more than a bunch of judgmental people.
Lanre looked at Folakemi. "Sit down, will you?" He said. "I said I had something to tell you in private" Folakemi replied. Lanre sighed and looked at her "It's either you sit down back, or leave this place which means forsaking your role in this drama, because it doesn't take me anything to have you out of a drama even when your uncle is the head coordinator" Lanre said. Folakemi was surprised, buh she couldn't afford to be angry, anger was for fools.
Clara entered the female bathroom. She looked at herself n the mirror and ran her right fingers through her forehead. Her perfect face shouldn't be ruined because of anger. She recited carefully, "Be angry but do not sin, meditate within your heart on your bed and be still" She wasn't on her bed, buh she could be still, and even if she couldn't be still physically, she could still her thoughts by diverting her thoughts into something else. she gave herself a smile, if she was Jesus' baby, she had to smile always. When she dedicated her life to Christ a week ago, she had bible sessions with Lanre on how to act as a believer, and he taught her the verse from psalm 4:4. They both knew well that Folakemi would act that way, amd Lanre had decided to use the opportunity to re-teach Folakemi.
Clara entered the rehearsal room again. "I'm sorry for walking out that way, I'm supposed to give respect to whom its due" Clara said. "At least younknow that" Lanre said and nodded to her to take her seat.
Lanre started: "The law of love. What this play implies is that even to the smallest thing you do, such as eating, it shouldn't bring offence to anyone, be they in same faith with you or not. Because the kingdom that we long for is of righteousness, peace and joy, and that, in the holy ghost. And how can you expect to be in that kingdom if you don't show the trait required of anyone who dwells there. Whatever is not of faith is sin and evil, if your faith desires you to love equally, and you do not, then it is evil. If that faith desires you to not condemn, and you condemn, then it's evil of you. If your faith desires that your actions even in the smallest things shouldn't cause others to doubt or fall and you refuse what you claim to have faith in, then it's evil of you. For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men”
"Then this your first time being wise?"
