INSPIRED MONDAY: Artist Blimey
Blimey looked on at everyone as they all, including her had their smiles glued on their faces, buh that was only for a moment. As soon as the pencil slipped from the easel, she could feel the shock that shook her smile away as it did from others faces too. Blimey trembled, not just within her, it was clear on her face, so clear that no one dared to console her. Not that they didn't care, buh because it wasn't the right thing to do. For a long time now, Blimey had been doing this same curve lettering since she was young, she had influenced every of her classmates that now knew how to do the lettering. In fact, she was a special tutor to Larry, who just did his perfectly without a flaw. There was definitely no word that could encourage Blimey, because never in her life had she made a mistake with her calligraphy, and for the first time, and not anywhere else buh infront of the people who could vouch for her art and even bragged so much about her, infront of these same people, she made just a bit of tiny mistake that would cost her a lot, and not just financially, buh even mentally.
Blimey stood from the chair she was sited on. "Blime" someone called quietly as she made her way to leave their midst, no one could call her name out loud, they had no words to console her. All her life, Blimey had always been into calligraphy, buh this was the first competition for it that she would be attending, and she couldn't even go past the first round. Blimey was so used to her letterings that she could play music aloud in her ears, sing loudly along with the music and still get them right, so she knew that it wasn't any of the people around her's fault.
Blimey stood on the railings, her mind was blank. And even as they were blank, she was grateful within her for the ability to blank her mind out, buh was that really a possible thing to do? "Blimey" Toni joined her by the rails. Blimey didn't look up, her face was still fixed on the car parked below. Toni took a quick glance down to see what Blimey was looking at. Toni nudged her with her shoulder. Blimey looked up, unconcerned, "Hey" Blimey said in a low tone. Toni smiled a little "How are you feeling?" she asked. Blimey shrugged "How am I supposed to feel?" she asked. "It doesn't really matter what you're supposed to feel I think. Sometimes, regardless of how you're expected to behave, your emotions might not be in alignment with that. Besides, people are different, there's no definite response to how a particular thing should be reacted to" Toni said. Blimey looked away from her, Toni enjoyed talking the most in class, and for that moment, Blimey didn't find her annoying, even though she wasn't the type that fancied so called motivational speeches.
The wetness of her own eyes caught Blimey's attention. That was why she wanted to leave her mind blank, this thing called tears. Blimey didn't grow up in tears. She had always been an extremely brilliant child, and had all things working for her such that she didn't have to struggle and worry much, and so tears weren't something she was accustomed to, and because she wasn't accustomed to them, she hated been in tears. Blimey didn't want to cry, it wouldn't change what had happened, and she didn't believe it would help her feel better, it would only call attention to her and make her failure seem like her weakness because no one in school had ever seen her cry. She dabbed her eyes with her hands quickly, Toni was still looking at her. "What'd you plan to do?" Toni asked. Blimey shrugged "At least Larry did well, so we still have a representative from our school..." Blimey sobbed before continuing "...I just have to keep training him like I do" Toni nodded. Blimey looked down again and thought within herself "Larry might have done better than her, buh in the real sense of it, she was more talented" buh that didn't matter really, what she would allow to matter was that she could train a person to become better than she was by helping the person succeed in something she could not in, not just for herself, buh as well as for the person.
