The Dreamer

The giver of dreams - a glimpse into the future, or a call to service.

PART 2/2

Jasire turned to the creaking door behind him. He was alone in a class room with five long benches enough to contain four children, and each bench had two tables. From his seat on the third bench, he could see the clock on the wall above the separate desk at the front, it was twenty one minutes past eleven, and he had been there since eleven.

The door was held open from outside for a while and Jasire just stared at it until the man behind it came in. He was quite finely dressed, and so a thought of fear dropped into Jasire's mind, then he thought of those he'd met earlier before - Phoebe, and Derin at breakfast, who had told her about the class for children his age - with their large, pure smiles. The man opened the door further to keep it open before noticing Jasire.

"Since when have you been here?" The man asked.

"Eleven" Jasire replied almost immediately.

The man nodded "What's your name?" He asked as he moved closer to where he was.

"Jasire"

"And when did you get here?"

 "Yesterday's night"

 "Mrs Dotun's son then?"

Jasire nodded.

"Classes have been adjusted to 11:30, I guess Derin didn't know" He said as he moved to the front of the class.   "I'm Mr David, I take this class. Do you know how to read?"

" Yes sir"

"Class is about to start, do let me know if you need anything, any time"

As Mr David headed to the desk in front of the class, The other children came in in groups, and Jasire tried to not focus on looking at everyone.

At exactly 11:30, Mr David stood from his desk, "Children" He called and all attention turned to him, everyone postponing their talks. "Phil" Mr David called. "Yes sir" The boy by Jasire's right replied, there were two others by Jasire's left. "Share the book with Jasire, he's yet to get his" Mr David said and Phil nodded. From the little pile of books on his side of the desk, Phil took the book on top and gave it to Jasire "I actually have two" He said, the next book on the pile was an exact copy of the one he lent to Jasire. "Thank you" Jasire took it

Jasire took a quick glance through the book, it's size looked small, buh the writings in it were quite much. He recognized a few things in correlation to some of the things he had heard from a particular playmate as a child. A part of the book caught his attention, something about a white horse, with the person on it holding a bow. He read further quickly, no longer paying attention to whatever it was that was going in the class. Then he read of a red horse, with the one on it holding a sword, then of a black horse, and a pale horse, and of an altar of souls...and again he was lost in his dream.

"Call him" Mr David said to Phil. Everyone else had turned to face Jasire, wondering whatever it was that could be wrong with him. Phil faced Jasire, his head was bowed on the book, and it frightened Phil a little. Mr David had called his name repeatedly, buh he didn't budge, as though no one was talking, he couldn't then hear even the call of his name. Phil shook Jasire's shoulder, and he raised his head as he would do when he woke up from his dreams, again, the dream had ended on the same scene. This time, it was on a page, and this time, he knew where to continue it from. "Are you alright?" Mr David asked. Jasire swallowed. "Yes sir" He said. "This is a class, you have to pay attention" Mr David added and Jasire nodded. Mr David bowed his head over the book in his hand and kept on reading.

Phil turned to Jasire "If anything's bothering you, you can talk to him" He said.

 "Like a dream?" Jasire asked.

"Especially a dream..." Phil smiled "...buh the preacher would have explained the dream better, Mr David is quite good too" he added.

"The preacher?" Jasire asked.

"Yes,he owns the house, buh he's not around at the moment, he would be back at the end of the month" Phil said.

Jasire sat opposite Mr David by his desk, he had taken Phil's advice and gone to meet Mr David after everyone else had left the class. "I've been having this dream for five days, and it's written in this book, described better than the way I'd describe it to anyone"

"You  didn't tell anyone about it?" Mr David asked. The book was opened in front of him, and he was staring down at it, with quick words of prayers within him.

"I dream repeated dreams often, and they're usually gone by the third day, buh this one started when we left Adito, and I haven't been able to tell my mother"

" Do you know what this book is?" Mr David looked up.

"I haven't seen many books"

"This is the most important of all books..." Mr David gave a little smile  "... guiding one through the path of life"

"Why is my dream in it?"

Mr David smiled further. "It's not your dream, Jasire. Dreams are given to us, we didn't make them up in our thoughts, they belong to the giver"

"And what's it's meaning? I've had many dreams, buh I never had the meanings to any of them"

"It's about the end, a glimpse of a part of what is to happen at the end. Do you have any idea about the end?"

Jasire nodded a no. Was there an end? He never thought of that, he never knew. People were born, and they die, and wasn't that how it will all be forever?

"There's a beginning of this earth, and He who made it has an end planned, for everything that has a beginning has an end. For instance, your slavery in Adito has come to an end. To understand your dream, Jasire, you need to know the beginning, and I'm not talking about how your dream started exactly, buh if you look at this book, your dream is towards the end of the book, and there are many pages before it. You'll have to read, and ask questions".

Jasire nodded. He felt a kind of happiness, maybe it was freedom. This was the first time he was allowed to be curious, he was given the privilege to know it all from the very beginning. He had been limited only to his mother's thoughts and knowledge since he was in Adito, and his mother wasn't one to pass her boundaries, until his father's death that led them away from there.

"What you dreamed of is only known by those who know and believe the words in this book. You have no idea what this book is, yet the Word gave itself to you as a dream. You're rather a lucky one, and He definitely has you in mind for something great" Mr David said.

Jasire knew the meaning of each word Mr David spoke, yet, it didn't make any real sense to him, and it seemed rather like he was lost in thoughts as he spoke. Still, he had the nudge to believe every word Mr David said, buh first, he would read the book.

1 Corinthians 2:10 KJV
